ANV Guides: Making the Most of the ANV Art Feed

The Artist N Virtual Art Feed is the central meeting point for all members’ posts, so it’s where other ANV Members are likely to discover your work for the first time. First impressions matter, so we wanted to put together a few pointers on how you can improve your appearances on the Art Feed to promote your work in the best way possible. Follow these 3 simple tips and you’ll be sharing top-class posts in no time!

    1. Add a profile picture. Your name and profile picture will appear on every post you add, making them your brand and identity on this site. Adding a profile picture (rather than leaving the default grey silhouette in place) will make your posts look better and more professional, as it will show that you have put effort into building your profile.
    2. Group images together. Posting regularly on ANV is a great way to make sure you show up on the Art Feed, but too many posts can be off-putting. If you have a couple of images to share, you can combine them into one post and encourage viewers to click through these images. This is more appealing than a feed flooded with individual-image posts, and will save you time too!
    3. Add text. When you upload an artwork image, think: What will visitors want to know about this image? People who view your posts will be interested to know the titles of the works, the size of the piece, when it was created and the materials you used to make it. If the work is on show in a gallery or exhibition, including this information is a great way to promote your show and encourage local art lovers to go and view your work in person. Similarly, if the piece is available for purchase, it makes sense to include this information – you might just get a sale!

If you need help uploading images or creating posts, remember you can always take a look at the tutorials posted in the “Discussions” section of this ANV Support Group. If you have any questions or issues that aren’t answered in the tutorials, contact us through this group or by email at press@thenetgallery.com – we’re always happy to hear from you!
